Excellent 12 days spent in Scotland with the family, some walking, kayaking and relaxing. Generally the weather was good allowing some time on the wonderful beaches of the North West of Scotland and visiting places such as Inverewe Gardens. We stayed at Poolewe, Grenhornish on Skye and Glen Coe. One day spent walking in the pouring rain, another in beautiful sunshine.
We left Glen Coe today a day early after 12 hours of continuous rain and a forecast of as much as 100mm of rain – something which Scotland excels at 🙂
Trip reports to follow, but here are a few more photographs
Looking forward to your trip reports, good to hear the weather wasnt all bad for you.
That last image is a different take on the usual ones from that site.
David, the waterfall looked a bit puny, so I included the photo of the cliffs instead.
Some nice photos there Mark, look forward to the trip reports.
Thanks James. Are you still going to Bala this weekend ?
What a lovely sunset. Nice to hear there was also sunshine, not only rain. Looking forward to your second trip report (after already reading the first one).
Your pictures are great- I’m hoping to visit the Isle of Skye soon. It’s encouraging to hear the weather wasn’t so bad, as well as the coastline is just as beautiful. I’m in support of Rambler’s Coastal access, open public access land allowing all to explore and enjoy our beaches, cliffs and foreshore. It’s always encouraging to see such beautiful photos.
Hi Lesley, thanks for dropping by. Skye has fantastic coastal scenery. I will posting up some more shots of Skye after I have finished some walking posts. So check these out in future.
Thanks
Sounds like a great holiday up there Mark. Loads to see up that way. Looking forward to reading the rest of the reports. Catching up after summer holidays!
Andy glad you had three good holidays !! Trip to Scotland was good – the inflatable kayaks work well and my boys enjoyed the experience. The trip into Kernsary was a disappointment because of the weather but gives me a good excuse to go again. As you will see in another post, I had had a good walk in Glen Coe and weather was near perfect for walking in Scotland.
