Terra Nova Preview Day

Laser Ultra – one of TN’s recent innovation

Today I went with Terry Abraham (thanks for the invite) and his friend Jake to a preview of Terra Nova’s 2013 range.  Some interesting new stuff for next year  and with a complete line up of all the products in their ranges it was  good to be able to compare and contrast against the established range. More on this in July.  Good to see that outdoor bloggers feature in these sort of events. My thanks to all at Terra Nova for the day.

  1. Pleased you could make it Mark and it was a pleasure meeting you again, mate. Good day wasn’t it eh?

You lucky so and so. I saw Terry’s post with a sneek at the WC Zephyros ‘Lite’ very interested in that as the TN laser’s are out of my price range.

*Some* bloggers do. One wonders about the politics of it all.

    • Hi Geoff, not sure how the politics work if there are any – I just got an invite from Terry to come along for the day.

It was actually a huge surprise how little politics have an impact on Terra Nova – I challenged one staff member about the cost of the Ultra range, and the response was, “that’s because the fabric is expensive”. Another member of staff responded to the challenge of short groundsheet lengths with, “Well most people aren’t as tall as you. Besides, we had a long version of the Laser a two years ago, and no one bought it. Not even in Denmark, where the average height is 6’3″…” Incidentally, that’s a ful inch taller than me – and it’s hard to argue with logic like that.

And I was invited by Terry, too. One dreads to think which pies that man has his fingers… Eugh.

In all seriousness, the Terra Nova team are all sound, and completely changed my previous assumptions. Even the sales director was frank and honest, which is certainly an opposite to the sales directors at the company I work for…
